Weekend blog
Friday was work then some old cheese and crackers, I don't think the cheese was good because I felt sick after a couple of beers at the hotel. I was sick, then off to Bar21 for some beer and fish and chips and Long Island ice tea. Ho, and indeed, hum.
Saturday
Up and nice slow lazy breakfast then to Piraeus, have to buy my ticket on the day of sailing for a normal boat, it seems. Whats a normal boat ? Then to Syntagma and looked around the shops. Well, didn't look asshops were mainly jewellery, clothing and tat. All sorts of tat and some pretty tatty looking shops too, and lots of beggars. Some awful looking ones, with deformities and stuff, little children singing & playing instruments to get sympathy. What a shame. Didn't get any maps of where I plan to go on Sunday. Wandered to by Monastriki where I looked at yet more ruins, this time a little museum attached with really nice carvings. Back, had a sleep. Sent a text. Went to supermarket.
Sunday
Up early (0550) and to Metro, Piraeus. Off on boat with jolly jack tars to Methana, where I managed to get off at the right place today ! Bought a map, and some worry beads to take home. Then headind inland, after a long uphill walk crossed to close by the volcano, and followed a track of sorts to pretty well the highest point on the island (750M, about 2400'). Couldn't be bothered forcing my way through any more burnt bushes to get right to the top, which was only a little bit higher. Then frollicked naked in the hot (36 C) sun. Then re-traced my steps, via rolling some great big boulders down a hill.
Sat at a cafe right on the water at the harbour and had some beer and called Hazel, then texted silly texts, because I was a little bit pissed, after 4 beers and the hot sun ! Back on the salty sea on a boat crewed by salty sea dogs. Then eventually ended up at Bar21 where I bought a Long Island ice tea that I couldn't finish. I might have tried a bar in Piraeus for some food, but they didn't take plastic, or was that last week ? Blimey, the hot sun and those 4 beers really did for me ! Feel a bit rough today, lack of sleep on Saturday night becuase the Greek all-in hotel noise champions were in the rooms next to mine, and the heat and alcohol effected me last night.
Feel quite ropy now (20:50) and n ot going to eat out, just a small snack.

Friday
I went to watch a film in an open-air cinema last nigh; Batman Begins. It was excellent ! I came out of the cinema (through a door signed 'exodus') with a happy smile on my face.
The rest of the week ? Monday was a Greek holiday so I worked in the hotel, much of the morning outside at the front, went to browse the net in the little office room, then in my room. Had an early night.
Tuesday, dunno, not much, another early night.
Wednesday, went for a pizza, had a couple of beers, then for more at Bar21 where I sat & listened to MP3s, and sent stupidish texts. I also sent an email reply along the lines of 'I deleted this, what a load of wank' to reply to Hazel from a crap message she forwarded me. It was a 'read this and digest' with a must forward to all your friends type of rubbish that she is silly enough to believe. Like the one about the guy that invented penicillin saving a Lord that fell off his horse, was so poor, the Lord paid for him to go to medical school then saving the Lords son life with penicillin. all complete lies ! But is shows how gullible people can be. That seemed to annoy her as I got texts and emails saying I should apoligise. I sent a tongue-in-cheek apology, which I doubt she will see as it was meant, a piss-take, as I don't think she knows how many beans make nine. I'll text and ask her.
I was going to write her a final sort of letter.Just (13:15) recieved a text asking if I'm OK as she is worried by my texts. She should be.
Thursday, had a Mcnugget feast after being dropped off, then went to watch Batman Begins !
